The Campagna T-Rex. These three-wheeled wonders are from Canada and are very expensive – $60 – 70,000. I have it direct from an owner that they are fun beyond belief. Nice toy if you can afford one!

All new, if you can afford it, is the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S. Available in both coupe and cabriolet form. When you choose options, it’s usually in $10,000 increments.

The interior of Porsche’s 918 Spyder Hybrid is just as futuristic as the exterior. I’m sure Jay Leno already has one.

This is the all-new Lincoln MKC (C for crossover, compact). It’s based on the Ford Edge, but with lots of upgrades and changes. It’s not just a badge-engineering job. I think it’s handsome and will find some traction in the very big compact SUV/CUV market.

The rear doesn’t work as well for me. The MKC kind of has a fat ass and the “signature” taillights that sweep across the whole rear just make it look larger.

The interior of the Lincoln MKC is more successful. With a combination of MyLincoln Touch and physical buttons and knobs, this is the direction Ford and Lincoln are taking to try and appease pissed-off consumers who hate the touch controls.

I think the new 2014 Ford Transit Connect family of wagons and utility vans will find many new customers as it comes in different sizes with much more car-like interiors.

The lighting just doesn’t do justice to this neon yellow 2014 Ford Focus ST. It’s really quite arresting – and you might get arrested driving far too fast in it.

Volkswagen Hatches New Chick Car

In case you hadn’t noticed, there has been a gaping hole in VW’s convertible lineup since the last 2002 VW Cabrio was sold in the US market. A decade later, VW intends to fill it. With a new Beetle Convertible on the way at the low end and a freshly face-lifted Eos at the high end, VW did market research in Santa Monica, on the campuses of UCLA and USC and found that there is a whole new generation of young women looking for something in the middle.

2012 Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet

Look no further, your wishes have been granted. The new 2012 Golf Cabriolet will come late this year or early next year as a 2012 model. Gone is the “basket handle” roll-over bar in favor of the pop-up system similar to that in the Eos. The canvas top electrically drops in a cool 9.5 seconds and the operation can be done at up to 18 mph.

Europe gets choices of six gasoline and diesel engines. We will probably only get one, maybe two options here.

The old Golf Cabrio was definitely a “chick” car and Volkswagen knows its market. The VW press photos show a group of hot young women all enjoying their new Golf Cabriolet – nary a drop of testosterone in sight. Possibly a Darth Vader black on black model could work for some guys.

On the plus side, this is a Golf, not the crappy cheap Jetta foisted off on the American market, so it will likely be blessed with the quality interior and excellent driving dynamics of a Golf. It remains to be seen how the loss of a roof and the inevitable weight gain common to all convertibles will affect the Golf’s inherent qualities.
